2025 PCP Annual Convention

From May 4 to 7, 2025, the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) marked a momentous milestone with its 55th Annual Congress, held at the bustling SMX Convention Center, Manila. Celebrating 55 years of dedication to advancing medical practice, this year's event shone brightly as an "Emerald Year," symbolizing growth, vitality, and renewal in the medical community.

Under the compelling theme, "Specialists in Sync with PCP," the congress brought together physicians, specialists, and medical professionals from across the nation to foster collaboration, share groundbreaking research, and elevate patient care standards. The gathering featured a diverse array of scientific sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, underscoring PCP’s commitment to continuous medical education.

A highlight of the congress was the active participation of members from the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology. Their dedicated scientific sessions enriched the program, focusing on the latest developments in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Josephine Contreras-Tolentino captivated attendees with her insights on Cancer Screening, emphasizing early detection strategies vital for improving patient outcomes.

Further advancing the dialogue on personalized medicine, Dr. Dennis Lee Sacdalan delved into Precision Medicine, exploring tailored treatment approaches that promise to revolutionize oncology care. Meanwhile, Dr. Edgar Christian Cuaresma shared his expertise on the evolving utility of both old and new tumor markers, providing valuable perspectives on their application in clinical practice today.

Moderated by Dr. Kenneth Samala, these oncology scientific sessions fostered robust discussions and knowledge exchange, reinforcing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in combating cancer.
